Levine Leichtman and management acquire the 240-franchise senior care brand, a bet that in-home care scales with an aging population.
The senior care franchisor signed 101 new territories in 2025 and 33 more in early 2026, becoming the second-largest brand in non-medical home care.

SYNERGY HomeCare closed out 2025 with 626 territories nationwide after signing a record 101 new agreements, a pace of growth that makes it the second-largest franchise system in the non-medical home care category. The Tempe, Arizona-based brand has expanded its footprint 86 percent since December 2019, when it operated 336 territories, and it added another 33 territories in the first half of 2026 alone.
The expansion reflects a structural shift in home care. Demand for in-home services for aging adults is climbing faster than most franchise systems can add capacity, and SYNERGY says it has sold more new territories than any other brand in the space for six straight years, based on a review of franchise disclosure documents among home care members of the International Franchise Association.
The growth comes as private equity money keeps flowing into senior care franchising, from Ridgemont Equity Partners' purchase of Caring Transitions to Main Post Partners' acquisition of HomeWell Care Services. SYNERGY's organic territory growth stands in contrast to that consolidation wave, suggesting existing franchisees still see enough value in scaling under one brand rather than waiting on a buyout to cash out.
For prospective and current franchisees, the numbers point to real whitespace remaining in a category that still serves a fraction of the aging population that will eventually need care. SYNERGY says its investment is shifting toward caregiver recruitment technology and franchisee support rather than territory count alone, a sign that operators competing for staff in a tight labor market will need more than a map of open territory to win.
