The Havencrest-backed home care platform bought Tech Medical Home Care Services, pushing into Kentucky and Ohio for the first time.

Avid Health at Home has acquired Tech Medical Home Care Services, a home health and personal care provider based in eastern Kentucky and southern Ohio. The deal is Avid's eighth acquisition since the Chicago-based company was formed in 2023 through Havencrest Capital Management's purchase of For Papa's Sake Home Care, and it pushes Avid's footprint into two new states.
Avid has closed acquisitions roughly every few months since its founding, previously adding Home Care Angels and Private Duty Home Healthcare to a platform that now operates across Illinois, North Carolina, and Michigan. CEO Jen Lentz says the company's M&A pipeline stays active, and the Tech Medical deal follows the same pattern: a locally rooted operator with a payer mix that fit what Avid was already building.
Private equity-backed platforms like Havencrest are consolidating home care at a pace that outstrips organic growth, competing directly with franchised home care brands for both acquisition targets and caregiving staff in the same local labor markets. For franchise operators in senior care, the deal is one more sign that scale and payer diversification, blending Medicaid, private pay, and other reimbursement sources, are becoming harder to ignore as a growth strategy.
Tech Medical's existing team and community relationships remain in place following the close, consistent with Avid's stated approach of building on what acquired companies already have rather than replacing it. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
