The brokerage franchisor adds offices across Tennessee, New Jersey, and Ontario as multi-office brokers keep scaling through an unsettled housing market.

EXIT Realty Corp. International opened six new offices across the United States and Canada, spanning Tennessee, New Jersey, and Ontario. The announcement stands out less for the office count than for who is opening them, existing franchisees adding their second, fourth, and multi-state locations.
Dino and Catherine Cates opened their fourth EXIT office, all four within six months. Shelly Gregory added a second office that now crosses from Kentucky into Tennessee. When a franchisor's expansion comes from current owners rather than first-time buyers, it signals that the unit economics work well enough to justify reinvestment.
Real estate brokerages are navigating commission-rule changes and uneven transaction volume, conditions that usually slow franchise sales. EXIT is framing brand affiliation as stability, arguing that agents serious about a career gravitate to established systems during turbulence. That pitch targets the exact moment when independent brokers question whether to go it alone.
The pattern points to a recruiting strategy built on proven associates converting into owners. Agents who have worked inside EXIT already know the model before they buy, which lowers onboarding risk and speeds each new office's ramp. For candidates, experience inside the system now doubles as the clearest path to owning part of it.
