Five Star Franchising has added Decorate With Lights as the eighth brand in its home services portfolio, opening the ten-year-old specialty lighting company to nationwide franchise development. The Springville, Utah-based platform now oversees more than 1,700 locations and 1,000 franchise owners across North America, and each new brand it adds expands the cross-selling opportunities available to existing franchisees.

A Fragmented Category

The outdoor lighting market is projected to grow from roughly $17 billion in 2024 to more than $28 billion by 2030, according to Grand View Research, yet more than 17,000 independent operators serve it with no dominant national brand. That gap is exactly what franchise platforms look for: real demand, low brand loyalty, and room to consolidate through a professionally run, systemized competitor.

A Low-Cost Entry Point

Decorate With Lights charges a $10,000 franchise fee against an estimated initial investment starting at $36,200, one of the lowest-capital entry points in franchised home services. The home-based model requires no storefront, showroom, or fleet, and each territory is built around roughly 50,000 single-family homes with household incomes above $100,000, a filter meant to protect unit economics from day one.

Built by Operators Who Scaled Before

Decorate With Lights was developed inside the Mosquito Shield ecosystem by the same team that scaled that brand to more than 400 territories and three straight years as Entrepreneur's top-ranked pest control franchise. Five Star added Five Star Flooring earlier this year, and Decorate With Lights continues a pattern of folding proven, low-capital service concepts into one operating platform, giving multi-unit operators a menu of complementary brands to run under shared back-office infrastructure.
