Pathlight Learning, backed by Taurus Capital Partners, buys four Omaha Primrose schools and signs on to build 11 more across five states.

Pathlight Learning has acquired four Primrose Schools locations in Omaha, Nebraska, and signed an agreement to develop 11 new schools across five states. The deal is the second acquisition since Taurus Capital Partners took a stake in Pathlight last August, and it pushes the franchisee's footprint to seven schools serving more than 1,000 children. Teaching staff and leadership at the four Omaha locations stay in place, a detail Pathlight is stressing to keep local families from worrying about disruption.
Taurus Capital Partners recapitalized Pathlight in August 2025 and has since financed two acquisitions, the first a single Nashville school in March and now four in Omaha. The pattern fits a broader trend in early education franchising, where private equity firms are buying up multi-unit operators and using them as platforms to acquire more schools rather than build every location from scratch.
The new development agreement sends Pathlight into Kentucky and Ohio for the first time while adding schools in its existing Omaha, Oklahoma City, and Nashville markets. The company expects its first new school to open in 2027 and says it will mix ground-up construction with converting existing childcare centers into Primrose locations, a faster route to market than building everything new.
For other Primrose franchisees, Pathlight's deal signals that the brand is comfortable consolidating ownership among a smaller group of well-capitalized operators. That can mean fewer available territories for new entrants but more resources, and more acquisition offers, for existing owners weighing an exit.
