Real REMAX Group taps former ERA president Alex Vidal to lead the REMAX brand as the merged company reshapes its leadership team and mortgage strategy.

Real REMAX Group named Alex Vidal president of the REMAX brand on September 1, filling the role left open when Chris Lim stepped aside to become the company's Growth Ambassador. Vidal joins from ERA Real Estate, where he spent three years as brand president and became the first Hispanic president of a major national real estate franchisor.
Vidal's hire follows the closing of The Real Brokerage's acquisition of REMAX Holdings just over a week earlier, a deal that created Real REMAX Group and triggered a wave of executive changes. REMAX CEO Erik Carlson stepped down and joined the board, Jenna Rozenblat took over as president of the combined company, and Vidal now reports directly to Real REMAX Group CEO Tamir Poleg.
The company also confirmed it is halting growth of Motto Mortgage, the REMAX-owned mortgage franchise system, to concentrate investment on a single scalable mortgage platform instead. Motto Mortgage president Vic Lombardo stepped down as part of that shift, with One Real Mortgage CEO Kate Gurevich taking over the combined mortgage business. For REMAX broker-owners, the combination of new brand leadership and a narrower mortgage strategy signals that Real REMAX Group is still deciding which pieces of its franchise portfolio get resources and which get folded into something else.
Vidal built TheCloserClub, a real estate coaching program he launched in 2004, and has coached more than 30,000 agents over two decades in the business. That background puts him closer to the agent and broker-owner experience than a typical corporate hire, which matters for a franchisor trying to retain confidence among its 145,000-plus agent network during a period of ownership change.
