Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming opened its first stores in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Utah this month, extending the pet grooming and retail brand to 36 states and Canada. The openings continue one of the brand's most active growth stretches, following its 300th location earlier this year. Woof Gang now counts more than 450 locations open or under development.

Grooming as the Anchor, Retail as the Margin

Woof Gang pairs salon-style grooming with a curated retail line that now spans more than 450 products, including a recent toy launch and hypoallergenic wipes. Grooming drives repeat visits, while retail lifts the average ticket on each trip. That mix gives operators two revenue engines under one roof.

Why Interior Markets

Pushing into Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Utah targets interior states with rising pet ownership and fewer branded grooming options. Entering these markets first lets franchisees build local share before national competitors arrive. Early density also makes regional marketing and supply more efficient.

What Operators Should Watch

Grooming demand has held up as pet spending stays resilient through tighter consumer budgets. Unit economics, with reported average sales near $740,000, depend on groomer recruitment and retention. Operators win or lose on staffing as much as on location, so labor planning decides the return.
