Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming has taken on a growth investment from Great Hill Partners, a Boston firm that now sits alongside existing backer Garnett Station Partners. Terms were not disclosed. The pet grooming and specialty retail franchise plans to direct the capital into franchisee support, new markets, and national marketing.

Why a second investor matters

Garnett Station wrote Woof Gang's first outside check in 2022. Since then the brand has more than doubled its footprint, reaching 36 states and over 450 locations open or in development. Bringing in a larger growth firm signals that the early backer sees room to keep scaling rather than sell, and it hands the brand a deeper balance sheet to fund that expansion.

What franchisees should watch

Great Hill says it will deepen franchisee support infrastructure and invest in digital marketing to build national brand awareness. For operators, that points to stronger lead flow and shared services they would struggle to fund alone. Woof Gang already cites some of the strongest unit-level returns in its category, and concentrated marketing spend compounds that advantage in markets where the brand has store density.

The capital picture

Two committed institutional investors give Woof Gang more flexibility on store buildouts, acquisitions of weaker units, and resale paths for franchisees ready to exit. David Roberts and Douglas Wigley of Great Hill join the board alongside CEO Ricardo Azevedo and Garnett Station. Keeping the first partner in place while adding firepower usually points toward an extended growth runway, not a near-term sale.
