Husband-and-wife franchise owners Ryan and Ashley Mitchell are extending their Always Best Care senior care territory across Indianapolis' South Side.

Always Best Care franchise owners Ryan and Ashley Mitchell are expanding their Central Indiana territory to cover Southport, Greenwood, Whiteland, Franklin and Bargersville, adding Johnson County to the operation they built out of Terre Haute since 2024. The move gives the couple a second cluster of communities to serve with non-medical in-home care and senior living referral services.
Ryan brings a business and community-operations background while Ashley contributes healthcare experience, a pairing Always Best Care leadership points to as the reason the Terre Haute office scaled enough to justify a second territory. Rather than opening in an unfamiliar market, the Mitchells are extending into adjacent counties where referral relationships with hospitals, physicians and senior living communities can carry over directly.
Non-medical home care remains one of the more resilient categories in franchising because demand is driven by aging demographics rather than discretionary spending, which supports steady, recurring revenue for owners willing to build out adjacent territories. Always Best Care's national network of more than 115 franchisees and 294 locations across the US and Canada reflects how many owners are following the same expansion pattern rather than chasing new brands.
Always Best Care CEO Jake Brown framed the Johnson County expansion as proof that established owner relationships translate across county lines, a signal to prospective franchisees that a single territory can be a starting point rather than a ceiling. For the broader senior care franchise category, stories like this reinforce that growth doesn't always require a new market. Sometimes it just means filling in the map around an existing base.
