Franchise Sidekick's free SeeThrough platform gives prospective franchisees direct access to real reviews and FDDs before any sales call.

Franchise Sidekick, a franchise advisory firm credited with placing more than 12,000 locations, has launched a free platform called SeeThrough that gives prospective buyers direct access to franchisee reviews and Franchise Disclosure Documents before they ever speak with a broker. The tool covers brands both inside and outside Sidekick's own referral network.
SeeThrough removes two of the biggest friction points in franchise sales: gated FDDs and curated testimonials. Prospective buyers can now compare real franchisee feedback and financial disclosures side by side, which pushes more of the vetting work earlier in the funnel and changes what a sales conversation with a development team needs to accomplish.
The launch lands as regulators push in the same direction. FTC staff guidance already discourages franchisors from adding undisclosed fees through operations manual updates, and NASAA has flagged non-disparagement clauses that block honest validation calls. A free, public review layer adds pressure on brands whose actual franchisee experience does not match their marketing.
Brands with strong unit economics and satisfied operators stand to gain from more informed leads who arrive further along in their decision. Systems with unresolved franchisee complaints or inconsistent Item 19 performance data face a harder sell, since buyers can now surface that context without ever picking up the phone.
