Healthy Solutions Medspa has opened a national franchise system exclusively for physicians, betting that doctor-led ownership can fix burnout and medspa oversight gaps.

Healthy Solutions Medspa, a Pennsylvania medical spa chain built by a husband-and-wife physician team, has launched a national franchise system that sells the business exclusively to doctors. After 17 years running two locations in Ivyland and Furlong, founders Dr. Michael Luciano and Inna Luciano are now offering 35 territories to physicians looking to open their own medically supervised weight-loss and aesthetics practice.
The franchise pitch leans directly on physician burnout data: roughly four in ten doctors report burnout symptoms, and roughly a third have considered leaving practice altogether, with family medicine among the hardest-hit specialties, according to American Medical Association research. Healthy Solutions Medspa is positioning franchise ownership as an alternative career path, trading insurance-based primary care for a membership-driven model built around weight loss, hormone therapy and anti-aging treatments.
Most U.S. medical spas are owned by non-physician operators who bring on a medical director only to satisfy state licensing rules, a structure regulators are increasingly scrutinizing. Healthy Solutions Medspa is franchising the opposite model, requiring the owner-operator of each location to be a licensed physician rather than a business owner leasing a doctor's name for compliance purposes.
States are moving to require registration and genuine physician oversight at medical spas, a shift that raises the compliance bar for the non-physician-owned operators who dominate the category today. For a franchisor, launching a physician-only ownership model now positions Healthy Solutions Medspa to compete on regulatory durability as much as on treatment menu, in a medical aesthetics market Grand View Research projects will nearly triple to $79 billion by 2033.
