NextHome launched a large-office franchise model and joined the AGNT family of companies, betting that real estate brokerages need more than one path to scale.

NextHome, a real estate franchise historically built around small and mid-sized independent brokerages, introduced a Large Office Model in early 2026 and then joined the AGNT family of companies. Executive Vice President of Growth Charis Moreno says both moves respond to brokers who outgrew the reasons they joined the brand decades ago.
Moreno says larger operators kept asking NextHome the same question: where do they go next. Legacy franchise systems were not evolving fast enough for brokerages managing significant agent counts and market share, so NextHome built a model that gives them enterprise-level technology, marketing and buying power while preserving the autonomy that built their businesses in the first place.
NextHome is not replacing its traditional franchise offering. Moreno frames the industry's future as multi-model, with room for a traditional office, a cloud-based setup, a franchise or a hybrid, depending on what an operator wants. The Large Office Model exists alongside that mix rather than in place of it.
Rising technology costs, competitive recruiting and thinner margins are pushing brokerage owners across the industry to reconsider their franchise relationships, and Moreno argues that brokers who fail to adapt will struggle. NextHome's answer, offering different structures instead of one standardized model, is a preview of how real estate franchisors may need to compete for the next wave of brokerage owners.
