Oilex is rolling AI-powered bay monitoring across all 35 of its Grease Monkey locations after a pilot cut service times and delays.

Oilex, the largest Grease Monkey franchisee in the country, is deploying an AI-powered operations platform called PitCrew across all 35 of its locations in Colorado, Arizona, Texas and Montana. The rollout follows a four-store pilot that cut average service times and reduced delayed services by double digits.
PitCrew connects to a store's existing security cameras to track vehicles entering and leaving service bays, flagging delays in real time without new hardware. Across the pilot, Oilex's top-performing location cut more than 3.5 minutes per vehicle, and delayed-service rates across all four stores dropped by as much as 16 percentage points.
Bay-level visibility has historically required either manual timers or a separate security camera system, forcing operators to run two tools for performance tracking and loss prevention. PitCrew folds both into one platform, which is why Oilex is also using it to replace its existing video management system instead of running the two side by side.
Oilex becomes the first Grease Monkey franchisee to run AI-based bay intelligence chainwide, not just at a handful of test stores, and that full-network commitment is the detail worth tracking. As service-based franchise margins stay tight, operators who can draw a straight line from software spend to throughput and revenue per bay will have a real edge over competitors still running on stopwatches and gut feel.
