Tidal Wave Auto Spa acquired and rebranded six independent car washes across Georgia and Alabama, pushing the conveyor wash chain to 332 locations in 30 states. Five of the sites sit in Georgia and one in Alabama, and all six now operate under Tidal Wave's standard service format. The deal is Tidal Wave's latest step in a strategy of buying up independent operators in markets where it already has a foothold.

Doubling Down on Existing Markets

Four of the new locations reinforce markets Tidal Wave already serves. Two sit in Macon and one in McDonough, Georgia, now a four-location market with a fifth site slated for 2027, while a sixth deepens the brand's presence in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Buying and rebranding operating car washes lets Tidal Wave add volume in a market faster than building new tunnels from the ground up.

Two New Georgia Markets

The acquisitions also put Tidal Wave into Vidalia and Cordele, Georgia, for the first time, extending its Southeast footprint into smaller metro markets rather than only the largest ones. CEO Scott Blackstock framed the deal as a bet that demand for premium, subscription-style car washes now extends well beyond the major metro corridors that most national chains chase first.

What It Means for the Category

Consolidation through acquisition, rather than new-build development, has become one of the more active growth levers in the car wash sector as unlimited-membership programs push operators to prioritize density over greenfield expansion. For independent car wash owners in secondary Southeast markets, Tidal Wave's approach signals that scale operators are increasingly willing to buy an existing, profitable site instead of waiting for it to close or convert on its own.
