Camp Bow Wow awarded a three-unit Texas franchise built on a new prototype that cuts the initial investment by more than $400,000.

Camp Bow Wow awarded a three-unit development deal to a Fort Worth couple, Trinity Shields and Abigale Freeman, who will bring the dog daycare and boarding brand to Weatherford, Burleson and Granbury, Texas. The deal marks one of the first multi-unit commitments built entirely around Camp Bow Wow's new reduced-investment prototype, a facility model designed to lower entry costs and speed up expansion.
The reduced-investment prototype cuts the initial buildout cost by more than $400,000 compared with a standard Camp Bow Wow location, according to the company. That lower barrier gives operators more flexibility in site selection and makes it easier to commit to three or more units at once instead of testing a single store first.
The deal lands as pet care remains one of the steadier categories in franchising, with daycare, boarding and grooming demand holding up even as consumer spending tightens elsewhere. Camp Bow Wow now operates more than 225 locations across 42 states and Canada, and parent company Propelled Brands has leaned on prototype economics, not just brand strength, to keep multi-unit operators signing.
For franchisees weighing pet care against other service categories, the economics matter as much as the concept. A prototype that trims six figures off startup costs shortens the runway to profitability and lowers the capital an operator needs to control three territories instead of one, a structural advantage as more brands compete for the same pool of multi-unit buyers.
