Camp Bow Wow awarded a three-unit franchise agreement to Trinity Shields and Abigale Freeman, bringing dog daycare and boarding to Weatherford, Burleson and Granbury, Texas. The deal is among the first built on the brand's newly launched reduced-investment prototype.

A Cheaper Path Into a Growing Category

The new prototype lowers the initial investment by more than $400,000 while giving franchisees more flexibility in site selection, following similar buildouts that opened in Dulles, Virginia and Gallatin, Tennessee. Pet care has drawn steady franchise investment as boarding and daycare demand outpaces new supply, but rising real estate and buildout costs have pushed up the entry price for new operators.

Why Multi-Unit Operators Should Watch

Camp Bow Wow, part of the Propelled Brands family, now operates more than 225 locations in 42 states and Canada. A lower-cost prototype that still supports multi-unit development gives the brand a tool to recruit operators who were priced out of the category, and gives existing multi-unit owners a cheaper way to add units without proportionally increasing their capital exposure.

The Broader Pet Care Signal

Reduced-investment prototypes are becoming a common lever across service-based franchise categories facing rising construction costs, not just pet care. Brands that can cut the check size without diluting the customer experience get first access to franchise candidates who might otherwise sit out this cycle.
