Atlanta-based Guaranteed Roof joined LB Capital's EM Exteriors roofing platform, trading half ownership for shared systems ahead of a future private equity exit.

Guaranteed Roof, a Metro Atlanta roofing contractor, has joined LB Capital's EM Exteriors platform, giving up half ownership of the company in exchange for shared technology, purchasing power and back-office support. The deal lets founders Matthew Weeks and Chase Howe keep running the business under its existing name while expanding beyond Georgia into Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. EM Exteriors now spans more than a dozen roofing companies across 13 states.
LB Capital founder Lance Bachmann built the platform on a structure he calls shareholders rather than sellers: LB Capital takes a 50 percent stake in each partner company, and the original owner keeps the rest, with the eventual payout tied to how the whole platform performs when it sells. That is a different bet than a straight buyout, and it only pays off if the combined group commands a higher valuation multiple than any single roofing company could on its own.
EM Exteriors centralizes accounting, marketing and procurement while leaving local branding and crews in place, a playbook franchise operators already know from co-op purchasing and shared marketing funds, except here the endgame is a single sale to private equity rather than ongoing royalty payments. For roofing contractors weighing a similar deal, the trade-off is real: access to enterprise-grade systems now, but less control over pricing, hiring and growth decisions, which LB Capital keeps centralized across the platform.
