Keller Williams is acquiring 1,200-agent Jason Mitchell Group, the latest brokerage consolidation as mega-franchisors race to control agents, technology and mortgage relationships.

Keller Williams has agreed to acquire the Jason Mitchell Group, an independent brokerage that closed nearly $5.9 billion in sales last year through 1,288 agents across 35 offices, ranking 36th nationally in RISMedia's 2026 Power Broker Report. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026 and folds a fast-growing teamerage model directly into KW's franchise network.
The acquisition follows a string of major brokerage combinations this year, including Real's pending purchase of RE/MAX and eXp's acquisition of NextHome. Since Compass bought Anywhere Real Estate late last year, large platforms have been racing to lock down agents, technology and lender relationships before smaller, less capitalized players get squeezed out of the middle of the market entirely.
JMG brings a referral-driven model built on relationships with major mortgage lenders, including Rocket Mortgage, giving Keller Williams a new lead-generation engine to distribute across its roughly 175,000 agents. Founder Jason Mitchell will lead the new JMG Division and join KW's executive team, a structure meant to preserve the referral relationships that built the business rather than fold JMG's brand into KW's standard office model. The deal comes after a CFPB investigation into JMG's referral practices was dropped last year, though a related class-action suit against lender Rocket remains pending.
Consolidation at the top increases pressure on independent and boutique brokerages that lack the scale to match KW's technology, marketing and lead pipeline. For Keller Williams franchisees, the deal signals more inbound referral volume ahead, but also a more complex ecosystem as multiple business lines and lead sources get folded into a single franchise network, raising the bar for what counts as a competitive value proposition at the local level.
