The Learning Experience is preparing a multi-year rollout of 14 new childcare centers across the New York Tri-State area and Upstate New York, adding nine sites in the Tri-State region and five further north. The expansion builds on an existing network of 43 locations already operating in the Tri-State footprint and follows a similar six-center buildout the brand announced for the Sacramento region earlier this year.

A Repeatable Building Program

Every planned center follows the same physical template: up to 10,000 square feet of indoor space and a 5,000-square-foot playground, staffed by as many as 30 teachers and serving up to 180 children. That standardization is what lets the operator commit to 14 sites at once rather than evaluating each market from scratch, the same discipline franchisors in other categories use to compress the time between signing a lease and opening the doors.

A Multi-Year Runway, Not a Quarterly Pop

Openings are staged out to 2028, with the first new Fair Lawn, New Jersey location targeted for the fourth quarter of this year. That long runway means the announcement functions as a demand signal well before it functions as revenue, giving commercial landlords and competing operators years of notice about where the brand intends to concentrate.

The Private Equity Backdrop

The Learning Experience is owned by Harvest Partners, which completed its majority acquisition of the chain from Golden Gate Capital in July 2025. The pace of the current buildout, more than 150 planned centers across three years including this New York push, shows how PE ownership tends to accelerate site signings once a growth-stage franchisor has proven its unit economics.
