The US childcare franchisor is buying one of the UK's largest nursery networks, adding transatlantic scale and its CORE technology platform to the model.
Backed by private equity owner Harvest Partners, the childcare franchise is adding 60,000 square feet of new capacity across six suburbs by 2029.

The Learning Experience is adding six franchised centers across the Sacramento suburbs, a buildout that will grow its local footprint sixfold over the next two and a half years. The first two centers, in Folsom and Rocklin, are slated to open in the third quarter of 2027.
Each center runs up to 10,000 square feet of indoor space plus a playground as large as 5,000 square feet, serving as many as 180 children. The Folsom location will anchor a commercial site inside Folsom Ranch, one of Northern California's largest master-planned developments, a sign that childcare operators are increasingly recruited as anchor tenants rather than backfilling leftover retail space.
The Learning Experience is owned by Harvest Partners, which completed its majority acquisition of the 491-center chain from Golden Gate Capital in July 2025. The Sacramento expansion is part of a broader campaign to open more than 150 new centers across North America and the U.K. over three years, and every franchisee signs a 15-year licensing agreement, a term long enough to justify the real estate commitment behind each location.
Sacramento-area families already pay $18,040 to $21,110 a year for infant care, and a regional poll found 17% of parents are out of work because of childcare costs. That shortage, not brand awareness, is the real constraint on growth here, and it is the same dynamic drawing private equity money into childcare franchising nationally.
